F.A.Q.'s
Q. Can I paint my address on the curb in front of my house?
A. Curb painting is not recommended. Addresses painted on curbs can be blocked by leaves or parked cars and offer poor visibility at night and fade quickly.
Q. I received my mail at a post office box. How can I verify my street address?
A. To confirm your 9-1-1 address, call the 9-1-1 Mapping and Addressing Office located at the Sheriff's Office at (904) 321-5952 or (904) 879-0911.
Q. If I rent my home, who is responsible for address posting?
A. By ordinance, both the owners and the occupants are responsible for posting the address.
Q. I don't have a phone and can't call 911, do I still need to post my address?
A. YES, Often emergencies are reported by a neighbor, passerby or from a pay phone. Emergency crews still need to locate the building as quickly as possible.
To verify that your address is correct in the 911 database, contact the Nassau County Sheriff's Office, 911 Mapping and Addressing Department, Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm at (904) 321-5952 or (904) 879-0911
